Current Parishioners

We are a growing parish, united in faith and love for the Lord and His Kingdom.  We are truly blessed to have you and your family as part of our parish and community.  It is our sincere hope that you feel welcome at Our Lady of Lourdes, and that you take part regularly in the Liturgies, services, and many events and opportunities that our parish has to offer.

We invite you to browse our new website for upcoming events and opportunities during the year, and hope that you become or remain actively involved on many levels.  Let us continue to become a parish of service and gratitude, one which is a living example of Christ and all of his good deeds.

Volunteering

We hope that you become an active member in parish life and join our community in faith and service.  We have many opportunities to volunteer your time and talents and count on your involvement to offer and successfully run the programs/events offered here.  Please be sure to fill out a time and talent card in the parish office so that we can call you when opportunities arise for various ministries and councils.  It is a requirement for all Seattle Archdiocese parish volunteers to complete a two step process before you may volunteer at the parish or school, in any ministry or capacity, regardless of your contact with children:

1. CICS criminal background check (this is a Federal Police and FBI check).  Forms are available online, in the Parish and School office. Please turn in all forms to the Parish Office personally due to the confidential nature of your information. This check is run automatically every three years. We require that you provide your SSN# to process this check.  If you are leaving the parish, you may request your paperwork. These checks are kept in a locked and secured file in the Parish Office.

2. Safe Environment/Called to Protect (SET) Training. This initial training is offered all year throughout the diocese. Please check online and in the bulletin for upcoming training locations.  This training is 3 hours long and is divided into two parts.  You may take the training at any Seattle Archdiocese parish.  The first step is to register by going to: http://www.seattle.setanet.org.  The site will lead you through the registration process. Should you not have computer access, please call the Parish Office and we can register you on your behalf. Please remember to sign it at the actual training facility on the sign-up sheet to receive credit for attendance and turn in the blue/green Church Personnel Agreement Form that you will receive at the training to our Parish Office. Extra copies are available in the Parish Office.

3.Safe Environment Training Updates: As you know, all volunteers are required to take the Safe Environment/Called to Protect Training before they are allowed to participate in ANY volunteer activity. As part of our continuing effort to insure the safety of our children, a short, on-line update to your training is required.  This process takes less than 30 minutes and can be completed from any computer with Internet access. If it has been one year since your SET or online update, you will need the online training before your volunteer work may resume. Please go to http://www.seattle.setanet.org and click on My Obligations.  Login using your name and address. (Your name and address must match the information in the database or you may not be able to login.) Once logged in, you will be able to select one of two refresher courses to complete.  Click on the course you which to participate in and follow the directions. Thank you for all that you contribute to our parish and thank you for keeping our community children safe.  Dates for SET or or online training can be verified in either the School or Parish Offices. Questions: Contact Julie Hanley at 360-695-1366, ext. 101.
