That Man is You!
That Man is You! is a FREE 26 week interactive, multimedia men’s program divided into two 13 week “semesters” that follow the typical academic year. The Fall semester is dedicated to developing a vision of man fully alive while the Spring semester is dedicated to becoming “that man.” The Spring semester includes an organized Lenten journey that participants make together. The weekly meetings are designed to provide men with the opportunity to receive and apply relevant information to issues facing men today. The essential elements of the weekly program include: Gathering over a Fellowship Meal: Men gather together over breakfast or dinner while light entertainment (sports highlights or bloopers) are projected onto a large screen in the background. The casual meal setting is designed to facilitate men’s social interaction. Transitional Music Video: Men transition from the casual meal to the heart of the program with the aid of specifically produced religious music videos containing images of our Catholic faith set against popular religious music. Master of Ceremonies: The MC has the essential role of ensuring that the men are familiar and comfortable with the overall program structure and logistics as well as setting the tone of the individual sessions. He also helps guide the men in their continuing education efforts. Presentation: A live Master of Ceremonies begins and organizes each session, a member of the clergy offers the gathering prayer, the presentation is projected from DVD’s onto a large screen and then the men break into small groups for discussion and reflection prior to concluding the session. Small Group Discussion: The small groups provide the indispensable opportunity for men to form substantial bonds of fellowship which provide the necessary support to embrace a life of discipleship which is counter to the prevailing culture. Becoming Catholic
Each person’s journey of faith is unique and rich. If you are interested in becoming Catholic, please contact us to get your questions answered. You will never journey alone as you learn about the Catholic Faith. If you choose to become Catholic, the process usually takes about nine months from September to after Easter. Because each person’s journey of faith is unique some may be ready or initiation sooner and others may wish to take more time. Each person’s particular situation is taken into account. Each participant has a sponsor who is a Catholic, and who attends the weekly meetings and special celebrations throughout the year with them. At Easter time, those wishing to become Catholic celebrate Baptism (if they have not been baptized before), Confirmation and the Eucharist. For more information, please contact Valerie Scott.
Adult Catechesis
Adults wishing to learn more about their faith are encouraged to attend Journey of Faith sessions. We gather in community on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Wednesdays of the month from 6:30pm to 8:00pm (September through June) to gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be Catholic. Attend all nights or just the topics you find intriguing. For more information, please contact .
